Less than four weeks stand between us and one of Australia’s grandest car festivals, Rockynats 05. This beloved event continues to grow in size and splendour with each passing year, drawing more enthusiasts from near and far to partake in three action-packed days of automotive excitement.
When we say we’re in full swing, we mean it. The momentum never ceases. Our passion for perfection drives us to constantly tweak and refine our cars, ensuring they present and perform better than ever before. It’s a continuous labour of love.
In the final stretch leading up to the festival, our focus sharpens. We meticulously prepare for scrutineering, ensure our tyre supply is ample for the burnout cars, stock up on race fuel for the high-performance vehicles, and entrust our cars to professional detailers to bring out their ultimate shine. Every detail matters as we strive to showcase our prized possessions in their finest form.
As an entrant, I believe I speak for many when I say that our dedication goes beyond personal satisfaction. There’s a profound joy in witnessing the smiles per gallon as we bring these mechanical marvels to life on the road. It’s a shared passion that unites our community, and we’re excited to share it with you.
Rockynats 05 promises to be the spectacle we’ve all been eagerly anticipating. This year, the event boasts new attractions such as Big Rig Trucks and an RC Club display, alongside fan favourites like the exhilarating drift display, street drags, and the burnout masters, including the ever-popular Skidrow.
No other location has what Rockhampton has, and this event can only ever excel in our town. From burnouts by the river to street drags in the CBD, from the Elite Pavilion Car display at the Showgrounds to the largest street parade that’s free to attend, the Showgrounds precinct is a hub of activity and trade displays. It’s a huge celebration of car culture that’s truly one-of-a-kind, and we’re so proud to have it here in our hometown.
Is Rockynats for everyone? Absolutely. There’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re a seasoned car enthusiast or simply curious, the appreciation for the craftsmanship and culture is infectious. You might even find yourself strolling down memory lane as you recognise cars from your past. Who knows? Next year, you could be entering your own meticulously worked-on vehicle into the festival.

From years in the making long before our community even knew it was coming, to the way it’s executed year after year. It’s an effort that doesn’t go unnoticed.
