RockyNats: Easter Reimagined as Australia’s Premier Motor Festival

It’s here! It’s finally here. What was formerly known as Easter has now become RockyNats, and the release of this RockyNats News means it’s finally here!

As the clock counted down to one of Australia’s monumental motor festivals, RockyNats, the air in Rockhampton and beyond crackled with anticipation. This year promises to elevate the already high benchmark set by its award-winning predecessor in 2022 and 2023!

Johnson’s 4WD is a proud sponsor, and funnily enough, this might raise eyebrows given its 4WD focus amidst a collection of revving engines and polished muscle cars. Yet, the core of this decision is a pure passion for motorsport.

Nathan, co-owner of Johnson’s 4WD is a lifelong motorsport enthusiast. Partnered with Nyree for 24 years, and the match made in heaven creates a ‘racing nirvana’.

Nathan’s journey from a curious teenager tinkering with engines to a seasoned enthusiast ready to race his car down the quarter mile proves his innate love for the sport. Fast forward to today, Nathan and Nyree channel their shared passion to engage directly with RockyNats, transitioning from spectators to active participants and sponsors.

The decision to sponsor RockyNats stems from their commitment to the motor community. Showcasing their current and ongoing project—a 2018 Lightning Blue Mustang GT transformed into a street drag car. As Nyree often says, “It’s an effective car for a family of five”.

With the Mustang making its debut in RockyNats03 and with a raft of performance upgrades, the Mustang now boasts 355kw/477hp at the hubs, ready to make its mark in the Street Parade and Street Drags of RockyNats 04.

The Johnsons’ involvement in RockyNats reflects their passion for community engagement and celebration of automotive culture. The story exhibits the essence of RockyNats as a platform where enthusiasts, families, and businesses join to share their passion, showcase their vehicles, and partake in the thrill of competition. As sponsors, participants, and avid fans, Nyree and Nathan live and breathe the spirit of RockyNats, highlighting the event’s capacity to inspire, entertain, and unite a region and its neighbours.

As Rocky is in the thick of the RockyNats weekend (did someone say Easter?), filled with excitement and engine roars, Nyree and Nathan transition from a local 4WD repair shop to pivotal players in RockyNats. Their story is that of passion, community engagement and playing their role in showcasing this amazing region far and wide.

As the city prepares for an influx of cars, enthusiasts, and families, Johnson’s 4WD stands proud as a sponsor, ready to cheer on every rev, race, and remarkable moment that makes RockyNats a cornerstone of Australia’s motor festival calendar.
